Thank you very much for expressing your interest in my UK tour. When I initially advertised my tour I had 400 people sign up so, given that number, I felt that it was too much of a challenge for me to do one tour, so I decided to do a series of trips, which started in March 2019, going throughout the year to October. I will be doing the same in 2020, visiting as many areas as I can. Some new and possibly revisiting some I went to in 2019. It depends on the demand from you guys…
“My philosophy in my dog photography is always happy dogs enjoying life. The shoots should be highly enjoyable for them and also for you, too. It’s an experience that I hope you will enjoy and treasure as much as the images themselves. Even better it can now be in your special place, near your home.”
TRAVELLING THE UK
I have had interest in my tour from the most southern to the most northern parts of the UK and I am very happy to travel anywhere and everywhere to meet you and your dog. I'm extremely excited to be seeing new locations and meet as many dogs, and people who love them, as possible.
WHEN?
I started my trips back in March 2019 and I’ll start again in March 2020. My plan is to head out at the end of each month for a few days to a week. Months will be March - September 2020. My itinerary for locations is as yet undecided, with the exception of me visiting the Norfolk area in March and Scotland in May. Areas I visit will depend upon demand so let me know if you want to go ahead asap and you may help me to decide where to go.
Alternatives: I also go to Brighton for work for a few days every month (I used to live in Brighton up until a year ago - I now live near Sidmouth in East Devon). So if you’re anywhere between Devon and Brighton I can meet you on my way there or back. Also, I visit Oxfordshire about 3-4 times a year, so if you are between Devon and Oxfordshire I can also see you on my way there or back. Otherwise, hopefully you can see me on one of my tour trips. Or come to Devon to see me!
LOCATION
It will be up to you to suggest locations you would like. This is something that can be arranged much closer to the time and I am very happy to advise on what makes a good location. Once you pay your deposit, or book the shoot in full, I will send you my new guide "Planning your dog's photo shoot guide" which will help you decide. You know your dog, what they like, where they feel comfortable and safe and will have a good time. But your preference may also depend on the time of year. So have a think about this - you don't have to decide now.
HOW IT WORKS
Because of the high level of interest in my tour/trips I operate a rough "first-come-first-served" policy. In terms of payment I offer the ability to pay either a £100 deposit or the full cost of the shoot and digital portraits.
COSTS
Normally, my shoots are divided in to two costs: the shoot itself and editing/post-production time and then prints/products/digital portraits. People pick and choose what they like after the shoot. But I don’t do it this way for my tour trips...
For my tour/trips I sell my shoots on an all-inclusive basis. This means you pay a set price and you will get the best images from your shoot in digital portrait format - basically this is a download link for you to get the images which you can then print yourself or post to social media etc.
If you would like to you can also purchase prints or products (including my new eco-friendly wooden frames) from me, but there is no obligation to do so.
The cost is all-inclusive, which means there is nothing extra to pay after the shoot and no travel fees. The shoot costs depend on the number of dogs that are on the shoot.
WHY DOES THE COST DEPEND ON THE NUMBER OF DOGS?
Put simply, the more dogs you bring to the shoot the harder and more time it takes and the post-production side of things can be significantly longer. The higher cost reflects the more work I have to do when I get home and edit your images. I can spend between 1-3 days on the edits.
SO WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
1-2 dogs = £450
3-4 dogs = £500
5-6 dogs = £550
After 6 dogs, any extra dogs are priced at £25 per dog.
All dogs on the shoot must be from the same household.
Commercial/business shoots are priced differently. Please contact me for details.
HOW MANY IMAGES ARE INCLUDED?
The shoot fees above include the best digital portraits from the shoot. This number will vary and there is no set amount. I do not offer a minimum nor maximum number of images. My policy is always to provide quality and variety over quantity because you never know what is going to happen on a shoot. I endeavour to give you as many I feel are worth including. This could be any number from 30 with one dog to 60 with six dogs, but these are estimates and actual numbers could be more or less.
WHEN DO YOU NEED TO PAY FOR THE SHOOT?
Deposit
You can pay a deposit of £100 at any time to secure a place on one of my upcoming trips, but to secure an actual date the shoot needs to be paid for in full. Of course, I may already be booked up when you would like so I’m urging people to pay their deposits sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment. Then, about a month or so before I will contact you to pay the remaining fee. Once that fee has been paid we will then arrange an exact date. PAY DEPOSIT
Pay for full shoot now
You can pay for the full shoot now. This means that I will liaise with you to agree a specific date you would like me to visit. This is of course subject to my availability so the sooner the shoot is paid in full the more chance I will be able to get to you at a time of year that you prefer. BUY FULL SHOOT
BAD WEATHER
Yes, this is Britain and the weather does not always play ball, but I do shoots all year round and there can be inclement weather at any time of the year. I work with both sunshine and clouds and my preference is to get the best light towards the end of the day. Sunrise is good too. If I have planned a shoot and the weather turns out to be pouring with rain we will simply have to postpone. It's part of my job I'm very used to. In these cases I will liaise with you to try and visit you at the earliest opportunity.
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS
If you have paid the deposit this is refundable at any time, up until you have paid for the shoot in full. Once the shoot has been paid for in full the deposit is non-refundable. This is because I will have spent time planning, and possibly paying, for accommodation, in your area.
HOW LONG ARE THE SHOOTS?
I'm not doing set times for these shoots. Shoots where I am not familiar with the location always take longer than normal so shoots for 1-2 dogs will likely take a couple of hours and likely longer with more dogs. Any more than 4 dogs and I would suggest pencilling out the whole afternoon or evening. Shoots are really relaxed and we will take our time.
WHAT NEXT?
You now have 4 options:
1. You're not ready yet to commit to booking a shoot, so you can stay subscribed to the emails I send and you can think about it another time. I will keep you on the list and send you messages from time to time about my trips.
2. Pay a deposit, liaise with me to get a month or months in the diary you would prefer a visit.
3. Book and pay for the whole shoot now and we will arrange a specific date for me to visit you.
4. You have decided it's not for you - you are able to unsubscribe from my tour emails and you will no longer hear about them.
If any of this is unclear then please contact me and I will be more than happy to answer any of your questions. Feel free to call me on 07810 516120 if you would prefer.
Thanks and I very much hope to meet you and your dog soon!
Best wishes,
Rhian
